Brookshires to host WWII veterans visit to Washington DC on May 10th

 

Important update -- As of March 21, 2010 -- the Flight on May 10th is completely FULL, but still call to request to be in future flights to Washington DC

Brookshire's and Super 1 Foods will sponsor a flight of World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II Memorial and other historic sites.

This WWII Heroes Flight will take more than 30 of Shreveport-area "Greatest Generation" veterans to the nation's capital  for three day visit leaving from Shreveport on Tuesday, May 10 and returning on Thursday, May 12, at no charge, with chain employees accompanying the veterans to assist them.

"We are very grateful for the service provided by these veterans," said Rick Ellis, chief marketing officer for Brookshire Grocery Company. "They went to war to defend the freedoms we all still enjoy. This trip is our way of sincerely saying thank you."

There still are  NO openings on the flight  which leaves from Shreveport airport on Tuesday, May 10th.

Shreveport-area WWII veterans who have not already been on a similar trip and wish to take part in future flights should call Carolyn Langston at (903) 534-3076  for an application. Applicants not selected for this May 10th trip will be considered for possible future flights.
