St. George Cultural Festival

May 20-22, 2011

Come enjoy the Food, Entertainment, and Culture of Greece and More at the  2011 “Greek… and More!” St. George Cultural Festival on Friday, May 20th from 4 pm to 10 pm, Saturday, May 21st from 11 am  to 10 pm, and Sunday May 22nd from 11 am to 6 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Church located at 1719 Creswell Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Admission is $3 per day or multi-day pass for only $5.

Entertainment and cultural events will include an authentic Greek music band playing all three days and nights for attendees to enjoy Hellenic dancing. Local Hellenic Dancers will also perform each day.  There will be church tours and presentations to give attendees a new insight into the richness and diversity of Orthodox Christianity.  For kids, there will be cultural craft making and other activities.

Several food booths will serve traditional and vegetarian Greek Dinners, Greek Salads, Gyro Sandwiches, Feta Fries, and Assorted Greek Pastries. Beverages will include a wide assortment of items to choose from including beer, wine, soft drinks and water.

*** NEW THIS YEAR:  GRECIAN BAKED CHICKEN IS ON THE MENU.  ALSO, PATRONS TOURING THE CHURCH WILL SEE REMARKABLE NEW ICONOGRAPHY.   Also new, CAFÉ ZEUS,   Children 12-and-under enjoy unlimited access to fun activities, food and jumping in the Bounce House for $5 SATURDAY ONLY (May 21) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.   Bounce House is Unlimited Fun!

MORE NEW KID’S ACTIVITIES:  Chariot Racing Relay, Bingo, Crafts, Scavenger Hunt, Word Games, Greek Dance Lessons, Write and Speak Greek, Pastry Tasting and More!

Food for the Kids:  Hot Dogs, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Chips, Water, Punch, Lemonade and Cookies.

General Admission for Kids 12-and-under, FREE WITH A PAYING ADULT on Friday and Sunday.
