Wanted guitarists to help break Guinness World Record

“Oldest Guitarist participating will win special prize compliments of THE BEST OF TIMES”

 

All guitarists from the area are encouraged to come out to the Hirsch Coliseum located in the Louisiana State Fair Grounds  at 3701 Hudson Avenue in Shreveport (located just off Interstate 20 at the Jewella exit) on Saturday, August 22nd to be part of musical history and to set a new world Guinness record of the largest number of guitarists on stage playing the same song at 2:00 pm. There is FREE admission to this event at the Hirsch Coliseum which begins at 9 am with live entertainment.  Participants are encourage to be at the Hirsch Coliseum early to find parking and to be on time for the 2 pm performance.

 

According to Guinness World Records regulations, all participants must register LIVE in PERSON either on Friday, August 21st between from 5 pm to midnight at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, or can register in person from 9:00 am to 1:50 pm at Hirsch Coliseum on Saturday, August 22nd. There is no charges or fees to register or participate in this guitar record setting event. For more information, log onto the website at www.jamesburtonmusic.com

 

Participants must bring their own acoustic or unplugged electric  6 or 12 string guitar (with small battery amps only, as no electricity will be available). Bass guitars will not count toward the record.

 

THE BEST OF TIMES will give a special prize package to the “oldest guitar player” who participates in this Guinness record attempt and will be interviewed on the “Live” broadcast of THE BEST OF TIMES RADIO HOUR after the record attempt and also will be featured in an upcoming issue of THE BEST OF TIMES.

 

The Best of Times Radio Hour will broadcast a special LIVE radio show on AM 1130 KWKH, Home of the Legends, a GAP Broadcasting station, and will be streaming live on the internet at www.kwkhonline.com from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 22nd from the Hirsch Coliseum as part of the 2009 James Burton International Guitar Festival   Radio show host, Gary Calligas, will have Frank Page, KWKH radio personality, and former Louisiana Hayride announcer on this special radio show.  In addition, this radio show will broadcast at 2 pm the live the Guinness record attempt for the most guitarists playing at the same time at the Hirsch Coliseum.
