The Best of Times receives Eight Awards at National Publishers Convention

The Best of Times received eight (8) national awards at the annual meeting of North American Mature Publishers Association (NAMPA) held in Washington, DC in early November.  The Best of Times is one of the newest publication members of NAMPA, a national association of publishers of mature/senior publications. Membership is by invitation only.

Publications were judged in a variety of categories by the University of Missouri Journalism Department. The Best of Times received the following awards, which included four (4) first place and four (4) second place awards:

First Place Awards:

            Most Improved Publication

            Briefs & Shorts – For “Breaking Medical News”

            How-To Feature – For “Come Fly With Me” by editor Tina Calligas

            Front Cover – August 2005

Second Place Awards:

            General Excellence

            Senior Issues – For attorney Lee Aronson’s legal column

            Feature Layout – “Happy Then Happy Still” marriage photo feature

            Overall Design
