Gary L. Calligas appointed Executive Director of national senior publications association

The Board of Directors of North American Mature Publishers Association (NAMPA) appointed Gary L. Calligas of Shreveport, Louisiana as its new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2012. In this position, he will be responsible for the leadership, operation, and membership activities of the national association.

Founded in 1994, NAMPA is non-profit association for the publishers of local/regional senior and baby boomer publications from across North America to exchange and share information, network activities, and host meeting opportunities. Currently, NAMPA members publish over 40 publications with a combined total readership of over 9 million.

NAMPA President, Donna K. Anderson stated “We are delighted to have such a committed and talented publisher assume the role of Executive Director of our organization. Gary’s dedication to the vitality of NAMPA has been apparent in what he has done previously as a member of the organization and more recently in his role as a member of the Board of Directors.”

Gary will continue as publisher of The Best of Times, a monthly magazine for persons 50 and older in Northwest Louisiana, and as host of The Best of Times Radio Hour which airs every Saturday morning at 9 am CST on AM 1130 KWKH, a TownSquare Media Radio Station.
